Day 1: Pick up at your hotel will be around 6 am to make the most of your first day in Kakadu National Park, one of Australia’s biggest Parks, with nearly 20.000 square meter. We will break at Corroberree Roadhouse, and you will have the first opportunity to see buffalos. From there we make our way to one of the most stunning Aboriginal Rock Art sites, Kakadu National Park has to offer. We will go for an interpretive walk through a lovely gallery of Aboriginal Rock Art, dating back at least 20.000 years. The top of Ubirr, which is reached with a reasonable fitness level, offers a breathtaking 360-degree view over the Nadab wetlands and towards the Arnhem land escarpment.

After a morning of exercise, we break for a delicious pick-nick lunch. Thereafter we will drive you to the East Alligator River. We will stop at the famous Cahill Crossing, the only way to get into Arnhem land by road. The new platform invites you to spot the saltwater crocodiles waiting for their next catch. The river cruise is guided by a local indigenous guide from Arnhem land and they invite you to learn about their culture. You even will have the chance to step onto Arnhem land.

After an exciting first day, we will drop you off at your hotel for an evening at your own leisure.

We share the stories of the local Binjin people, while we enjoy more stunning views over NourlangieRock and the Arnhem land escarpment. We will serve you a morning tea after our walk before we continue our journey to the south. Our next stop will be at the interpretive Warradjan Culture Centre, which has a very interesting display of history, hunting stories, and other cultural aspects.

After our lunch, we will drive you to the jetty, from where you will be departing on your famous Yellow Water Billabong cruise.
