From here we drive into Kakadu National Park and our next stop will be at Nourlangie (Burrungkuy). This 1.5-kilometer circular walk takes us past ancient Aboriginal shelters and several outstanding art sites with Aboriginal Rock Art galleries, dating back as far as 20.000 years ago.
Being a very small group, we can take you on an intimate, small walking tour around various Aboriginal rock art, at Nourlangie (Burrungkuy) and you will hear the stories of the local Bininj people. Their storylines have been passed down from generation to generation and you will have the time to stand back and take it all in. For the more adventurous group members, a fantastic look out to the Arnhem land escarpment awaits you.
Returning to your air-conditioned 4WD, we will provide you with iced cold water, before traveling further down south towards Yellow Water Billabong (Ngurrungurrudjba), where you will join a local guide for a 1.5-hour cruise. You will have the chance to spot saltwater crocodiles, and a range of colorful bird life, like Jacanas, Black neck storks, and Brolgas as well as white-bellied sea eagles. To recap on all that you have seen and heard today we will visit the Warradjan Culture Centre, which has been built in the shape of a pig-nosed turtle.
